Owner/Director
Stephanie is certified by the LPCW of North Carolina and has successfully completed training in several disciplines at the Broadway Dance Centre in New York City as well as having participated in teacher intensive workshops at the La Guardia School for the Performing Arts and MUCICWORKS in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Stephanie also spent the summer of 2010 living in NYC continuing her training in various style at BDC.
"The Studio" has won over 200 medals since inception in 2003, including "Adjudicators Choice Award", "Highest Mark Lyrical Solo" and "Highest Mark Lyrical Small Group", "Choreographer's Award" as well as "Highest Mark Professional Solo" in 2008 & 2010.

Lisa H

Tap, Jazz, Lyrical & Hip Hop
Lisa has been with The Studio Dance School since it’s inception in 2003. With 12 years of dance experience she has been teaching and assisting for the past 7 years. With training in hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet and modern .Lisa was a member of one of the competitive troupes for 3 years competing in several local and US competitions. Lisa has also participated in many workshops & conventions with various well known choreographers including Kevin Howe, Tera Perez, Sebra & Soyna Tayeh to name a few . Lisa received The Teacher in Training Award presented by The Studio for 2 years in a row. She really enjoys working with kids and is looking forward to another year with the studio.

Gina Grant
Assistant
Gina Grant has been dancing for five years at The Studio Dance School and for four at Port City Dance Academy. She has had training in hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet and modern. Gina has been part of the competitive program at The Studio for four years and has won numerous bronze, silver and gold titles, as well as a unique choreography award presented by Bravo! Dance Competition. She has obtained the Scholarship Award and The Spirit of Dance Award presented by The Studio. Gina competed in So You Think You Can Dance Saint John in 2010 and placed fourth. She recently participated in the summer program offered by The School of Toronto Dance Theater which focuses on contemporary and modern dance and plans to be a modern choreographer in the future. Gina is excited to begin her apprenticeship with the studio this year as she pursues a career in choreography.
Lorena Robertson
Belly Dance / Desert Magik Artistic Director
Lorena grew up dancing, enrolled in tap and ballet classes from the age of three. She rediscovered her love of dance as an adult after her daughter was born. in 1979 she decided to try belly dance classes and she was hooked. She continued classes and eventually became one of the founding members of Sheba’s Caravan. In the fall of 1983, she traveled with some of her troupe members to Boston to attend a workshop with Badawia. Kasim of Azziza Productions hosted workshops twice a year throughout the 1980s and brought in world-class instructors. In Boston, she attended workshops with master teachers such as Suhaila Salimpour, Amaya, Yousry Sharif, Dahlena and Cherri Miller, as well as the amazing Badawia, just to name a few.
With the support and encouragement of her husband and friends she began teaching classes in 2001 at a local community center. She continued teaching there for several years and as demand for more classes grew, taught additional classes at the community college and at a fitness studio. In 2004 Lorena began teaching classes at The Studio where she now teach exclusively. Lorena is also the Artistic Director of Desert Magick.

Yoga - Beginner
A certified yogi from the Kripalu School of Yoga, Denise has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. Having spent the last 30 years in the Heathcare field, Denise is passionate about sharing the therapeutic benefits of a regular yoga practice on and off the mat in order to promote a healthier lifestyle.
Through her own yogic journey she has discovered a balance of inner peace and physical wellbeing.
Believing in a philosophy that emphasizes honoring the body, its strengths and limitations, in a compassionate, self-accepting way, Denise believes that everyone can do yoga!
