Dance Class Etiquette

Dance class had its own set of rules and manners. They are meant to preserve the long history of discipline in dance, and show respect to the dance professionals who lead the class.
  • Please call "The Studio" if you will be late or unable to attend class or rehearsal.
  • Dancers are to remain in the waiting area until the teacher opens the studio doors.
  • No hanging or leaning on the barres.
  • Hair must be tied back, off the face & neck for class.
  • No chewing gum.
  • No loose jewelery.
  • No running
  • No outdoor footwear in the classroom.
  • Dance training requires "hand-on" correcting. Your teacher may use her hands to place you in the proper position, If you are uncomfortable with this practice, please speak with your teacher or the Director. All discussions will be held in the strictest of confidence.
  • "The Studio" will not tolerate disrespectful behavior or language towards fellow students or teachers. Students displaying this type of behavior will be dismissed from class and may also be asked to withdraw from the program.

Each instructor reserves the right to dismiss a student from class for violating dance class etiquette or attire policies of "The Studio"
