Class Descriptions

Jazz
Combines popular music and current dance trends with the polish and technique of performance dance.

Tap
Making music with your feet. This class is taught to popular, upbeat music. Improve your rhythm and learn the art of tap dancing.

Lyrical
Afusion of ballet and Jazz. Lyrical dance interprets music, words and the emotion of the music.

Hip Hop
A popular urban youth culture style of street dance which provides a funkier edge to the basic styles of dance.

Modern
A style of theatrical dance that is not as restrictive as classical ballet. Very interpretive.

Belly Dancing
Taken from Turkish, Persian, Egyptian, North African and Greek culture, Belly dancing is a low impact. toning and aerobic workout focusing on technique and isolated movement.

Yoga
A system of exercises which help your control of the body and mind. It also improves your breathing and focuses the alignment of your body.

Pilates
Classes consisting of very gentle exercises done on a mat in either a sitting or lying down position. The primary focus is on awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility.

Competitive
These classes are for serious dancers who wish to compete. Auditions are mandatory for all competitive classes. All students must attend one routine class and one technique & conditioning class each week. For more information on these classes and auditions dates, please contact "The Studio" 849-5299
